A video showcasing these modifications has been posted on VM Customs’ YouTube channel, revealing the comprehensive alterations made to the five-door Jimny to emulate the aesthetics of the G-Wagen. Starting with the exterior, this modified Jimny boasts a distinct front bumper with squared housings for fog lamps, a front grille featuring vertical slats, and distinct front fenders, all closely resembling those of the Mercedes-AMG G63.

This customized Jimny even incorporates the same fender-mounted clear-lens turn indicators, a sharp and nearly flat bonnet, squared and flared wheel arches, blacked-out rearview mirrors, and LED inserts in the tail lamps, mirroring the high-end G-Class. Additional enhancements applied to this customized five-door Jimny encompass roof-mounted LED bar lights and a rear roof spoiler, 18-inch aftermarket black alloy wheels paired with lower-profile tires, and a sleek gloss black roof finish.
Beyond the exterior, this extensively tailored five-door Jimny boasts an array of interior customizations. Taking cues from the G63 AMG, this modified Jimny showcases red-colored accents on the door pads, genuine leather seat covers, steering wheel, and door pads, along with a black roof liner. Enhancing its uniqueness, this G-Wagen-inspired Jimny also incorporates the Cardi K4 ambient lighting package and an upgraded audio system.
Minimal changes to the car
While the emphasis of these modifications is primarily external and internal aesthetics inspired by the Mercedes-AMG G63, minimal changes have been made to its equipment lineup and mechanical components beneath the surface. The Jimny retains its natural 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, delivering an asserted 104 PS of power and 134.2 Nm of torque.
This comprehensive G-Wagen kit is adaptable to all four variants of the Jimny – Zeta manual, Zeta automatic, Alpha manual, and Alpha automatic – all of which are equipped with Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro four-wheel drive system as standard. This kit offers the opportunity to transform a five-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny into a Mercedes-AMG G63-inspired vehicle, a transformation that would otherwise entail an expense almost twenty times higher than the former.
Structural changes are illegal in India
In India, engaging in structural alterations is prohibited by law. The Supreme Court of India and the Motor Vehicle Act have explicitly prohibited any form of modifications intended for operation on public roads. While such vehicles can serve as project cars for enthusiasts, they are only permissible on private properties such as racing tracks or within a farmhouse. Attempting to operate them on public roads could lead to confiscation by law enforcement authorities.
In India, the scope for vehicle modification is strictly limited, extending even to aftermarket accessories like bullbars and other structural modifications. Additionally, the use of oversized tires that exceed a vehicle’s specifications is also prohibited. Although such modified vehicles often attract considerable attention on the roads, they are often fabricated in local garages lacking proper welding equipment, which raises safety concerns.
The potential disintegration of a vehicle while in motion on a road poses a serious risk of causing accidents. To curb such modifications, law enforcement agencies across different states have established checkpoints to monitor compliance and may issue fines for violations.
