WhatsApp Users Can Now Initiate Group Video Calls With More Participants

The Meta-owned instant messaging platform, WhatsApp, has pushed a new update on iOS. The update comes with a new feature that increases the maximum number of video call participants that can join right from the beginning. As WhatsApp adoption increases among people from all walks of life, starting a video call with a larger group becomes important, which the new feature unlocks.

WhatsApp Makes It Easier To Initiate Group Video Calls

With WhatsApp for iOS version 23.21.72, users can add up to 31 other participants on a video call right from the start. Previously, users could only add 15 people while initiating the call and manually add others as the call commenced. Although the feature isn’t mentioned in the update changelog, popular WhatsApp updates and features tracker WABetaInfo said it is a part of the latest update on the App Store.

It is important to mention that the new update might not be available for all users at once. WhatsApp features often take time to reach all users, and that’s natural, given the platform has billions of users around the world. At the time of writing, Smartprix couldn’t obtain version 23.22.79. Instead, Apple’s App Store still shows version 23.21.79 as the latest update, which came out in the fourth week of October.

Most recently, WhatsApp released the multi-account login feature and the AI sticker creation feature. If one hasn’t gained access, check if the app store has a WhatsApp update.
