Loth-cats are native to the planet of Lothal and have appeared many times across the animated Star Wars Rebels animated series. When it comes to live-action appearances, a Loth -cat can be spotted in The Mandalorian when it interacts with Grogu.
What does the Loth-cat do in Star Wars?
The Loth-cat acts like a normal real-life cat and, therefore, is pretty uninteresting.
Loth-cats can’t use the Force, shoot lasers out of their eyes, or anything else like that. It simply acts like a cat and is known to hunt Loth-rats. As demonstrated by Sabine, they can be kept as pets for companionship, much like a real-life cat.
When it comes to the Loth-cat appearing in Ahsoka, it’s possible that it is just an Easter egg for veteran fans to appreciate. Alternatively, it could be used as another link to Lothal, where the missing Ezra Bridger comes from.
Leaning into speculation for a moment, if Marrok does turn out to be Ezra Bridger, ties to Lothal could play an important role in bringing him back to the light side of the Force.
