The Sharks’ 24-6 win over the Raiders has secured Cronulla a home elimination final for week one of the 2023 NRL finals.

The competition’s top eight had already been set and the order of the top four confirmed after the Panthers downed the Cowboys, but the positions of the bottom four teams hinged on the outcome of the last regular-season match.

Clinching the two points, the Sharks will now play the Roosters in a do-or-die finals clash at Shark Park.

Newcastle confirmed their fifth placed finish with a win over the Dragons with the Sharks sixth, the Roosters seventh and the Raiders rounding out the top eight.

The finals kick off on Friday, 8 September.
