Vikrant Massey received extensive praise for his portrayal of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma in the film 12th Fail. Recently, he was honoured with the Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Critics’) for his exceptional performance in the film.
Taking to his Instagram account on Tuesday, Vikrant shared a picture posing with his Black Lady and wrote, “We’re home. FINALLY!!! (red heart emoticon) Thank you @vidhuvinodchoprafilms @zeestudiosofficial & @filmfare for turning my childhood dream into a reality.”
He also took to Instagram stories and shared a picture where he is seen sharing his award with IPS Manoj Kumar Sharma. Sharing the photo, he wrote, “Asli hero.”
On Monday, Manoj Kumar Sharma took to Instagram and shared the same photo with the caption, “Jab ek Manoj dusre Manoj ko apni Filmfare trophy dikhane laata hai, tab uss par aur bhi pyaar aata hai.”
The 12th Fail achieved significant success at the 69th Hyundai Filmfare Awards with Gujarat Tourism, taking home awards for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor (Critics), Best Editing and Best Screenplay.
12th Fail focuses on UPSC aspirants and is inspired by true events. It portrays the challenges faced by numerous students attempting the UPSC entrance exam. The story follows the journey of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who triumphed over poverty to achieve the position of an IPS officer. Adapted from a novel by Anurag Pathak, the film depicts Vikrant as a young man from Chambal with aspirations of joining the police force.
