Indian former cricketer Wasim Jaffer recently pointed out deficiencies in LSG’s batting lineup, particularly stressing the need for improvement from openers KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock. Jaffer emphasized the importance of the opening duo in establishing a strong foundation for the team. As LSG gears up for the match, they’re keen on implementing Jaffer’s advice to bolster their performance on the field.
LSG NO.3 Batter Problem:
In their upcoming match against CSK on home ground, Lucknow Super Giants are determined to turn the tide after suffering two consecutive defeats. Quinton de Kock is eager to break his run drought, while Marcus Stoinis has maintained consistency. Despite occasional thirties, KL Rahul has faced challenges in staying at the crease. Additionally, LSG continues to grapple with issues regarding their No. 3 batsman. As they gear up for the clash, LSG is focused on addressing these concerns and putting up a strong performance.
Jaffer’s Advice For LSG:
According to Wasim Jaffer, Lucknow Super Giants should consider promoting Marcus Stoinis to the No. 3 position and placing Nicolas Pooran at No. 5. Jaffer suggests experimenting with their batting order to determine the most beneficial arrangement. By strategically shuffling the lineup, LSG aims to optimize their batting strength and enhance their performance in upcoming matches.
He said, “ I think part of the problem is that KL Rahul is not getting runs so is Quinton de Kock if they get going they will set a platform. No. 3 position is an issue and it’s been for a while. Because they tried Devdutt Padikkal, now they have gone back to Deepak Hooda who is at low score at that number also. I personally feel Stoinis should bat at No.3. Then you will probably go with Prerak Mankad at four and Nicholas Pooran at 5 then Krunal Pandya and Ayush Badoni. I dont think Ayush Badoni at No. 4 is the right call.”

He further said, “I think there is a lot of pressure on Pooran as well. If de Kock doesn’t fare…..I am surprised by how he is playing. He is looking ultra-aggressive, I think he is playing a little bit of a high-rise game.”
