Shin chan Anime Set to Arrive on Sony YAY! TV Channel in Five Dubs

On April 18, the TV channel Sony YAY! announced that Shin chan will be joining its programming slate, coinciding with the channel’s seventh anniversary.

The channel revealed that viewers can expect to see “never-before-seen episodes and movies” of the Crayon Shin-chan anime series on the channel. The show will be dubbed in five languages: Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali. Sony YAY! hasn’t announced the premiere date of the show yet.

“We are excited to partner with Sony YAY! and look forward to the comprehensive 360-degree footprint generation for Shin chan,” said Maiko Sumida, the head of animation sales and development, international business department at TV Asahi. “We look forward to further growing the Shin chan brand in India through this collaboration.”

“Sony YAY! has been consistently working towards building its rich ecosystem of #Happyverse,” added Leena Lele Dutta, the business head at Sony YAY! “With its endearing characters that have created connect across the globe, we are excited to welcome Shin-chan to the Sony YAY! family. We are confident that Shin chan’s charm and mischief will resonate with our viewers.”

Sony YAY! has been increasingly focusing on anime content since the success of Naruto, which it started airing in August 2022. In March of this year, it was announced that Naruto Shippuden would also be added to the channel’s lineup. Additionally, Sony YAY! launched a dedicated anime channel called Anime Booth in collaboration with DTH provider Airtel for its Airtel Digital TV, offering a 24-hour anime channel featuring shows like Demon Slayer, Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, Black Clover, and more.
