The news is now official – Pathaan 2 is in the works. A recent report has confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan will be returning to play the role of Pathaan in a follow-up movie. Production for the film is expected to begin later this year. According to sources, Aditya Chopra has personally collaborated with his team on the script and is establishing Pathaan 2 as a launching pad for larger conflicts that could lead to more espionage films under the YRF banner.
As per a report by a leading news portal, a source stated that Shah Rukh and Aditya have given their approval for the script of Pathaan 2. It is rumoured that the events of Pathaan 2 will unfold before the timeline of Tiger vs Pathaan. The film is expected to lay the foundation for the anticipated clash between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in Tiger vs Pathaan.
According to the source, Pathaan 2 is being crafted as the key spy film in the universe, setting the stage for larger conflicts ahead. It will introduce the next chapter in the YRF Spy Universe’s timeline. They further mentioned that SRK and Aditya are planning to start filming Pathaan 2 towards the end of the year.
Meanwhile, a previous report stated that Salman and SRK are considering beginning production on Tiger vs Pathaan during the upcoming summer. YRF has not yet confirmed these reports.
