Ola S1 Air price, range, new e-scooter patent

This model appears to be a very simple offering, likely aimed at the last-mile and B2B sector.

Ola Electric has filed a patent for a new electric scooter and this model seems to be aimed more at the commercial sector than the private one that its S1 e-scooter lineup caters to.

  1. Appears to be a single seater
  2. Has very basic underpinnings

The design of this upcoming Ola e-scooter is quite barebones and seems to prioritise function over form. There appears to be very little in the name of bodywork here with just a small front apron and some covered panels under the seat. Speaking of the seat, it also looks like this will be a single-seater, with what seems to be a luggage rack visible behind the saddle. There is also the possibility of a pillion seat being offered as an optional extra.

Underpinnings seem to be fairly basic with a wishbone style front fork (similiar to a bicycle) and twin rear shock absorbers, as well as drum brakes at both ends. The wheels themselves look familiar to the steel wheels on the S1 Air and S1 X lineup and could be the same units. A flat floorboard is visible and considering the intended usage of this vehicle, payload capacity should be quite high.

The handlebar doesn’t have any cladding and a small presumably digital dash is mounted directly to it. Considering that the Yulu electric vehicles have swappable batteries, Ola may well endow this product with swappable batteries as well, although no concrete information is available at this time regarding this.

Considering that prices for the the Ola S1 X lineup begin at Rs 89,999 (ex-showroom, including FAME-II subsidy), this product will likely have a more affordable price tag when it does launch.
