No visual or mechanical changes have been made to the Maruti Swift owing to the latest increase in price. Powering the Swift is a sole 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 90hp and 113Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox along with an optional 5-speed AMT.

The price hike for the current-gen Swift will be valid for just around a month as the next-gen Swift will launch by mid- May 2024. Carmakers usually hike prices of the outgoing models just before full model change in order to make the next-gen car look comparitively less expensive than the one it replaces.

Next-gen Maruti Swift launch in May 2024

The Swift will be one of Maruti’s biggest launches in 2024, and it will be followed by the all-new Dzire compact sedan later this year. The new Maruti Swift (codename:YED) will feature a fresh yet familiar design, a new interior, and all-new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine.

On the equipment front, the new Swift will be equipped with a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as six airbags which will likely be standard across the range. For the Swift, it remains to be seen if Maruti launches the next-gen car at the same price or at a higher price point than the outgoing one.
