Jeffrey Wright is ready to head back to Gotham City for The Batman: Part II, even if he doesn’t know what exactly he will be doing yet.

Wright spoke with ET while attending the Critics Choice Awards and was asked about the status of The Batman: Part II. “You’ve seen as much of a script as I have at this point,” said Wright. “I don’t want to jump ahead. I just want to go forward with it.”

He went on to add, “Clearly, I’m Lieutenant Gordon at the end of the film, the first film, so we may be moving up in the ranks, I suppose, but I haven’t seen anything yet. I’m being patient, letting [director] Matt Reeves do his thing — which is going to be magical and wonderful — and looking forward to diving back into it when the time comes.”

Very little is known about the second film as of yet, other than Robert Pattinson will once again play the Caped Crusader.

Before the film hits theaters, we’ll also see The Penguin series on HBO Max featuring the return of Colin Farrell to the role. It has been confirmed that the series will pick up approximately one week after the end of the first film, and will give us some idea as to where the second film will be heading storywise. Perhaps we will get some hints as to whatever villain is now terrorizing the streets of Gotham.

The Batman: Part II is scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 3, 2025.
