Ex-Campbell city employee sentenced in child pornography case

(KRON) — A San Jose man was sentenced to serve five years in prison for possessing sadistic and masochistic child pornography, federal prosecutors and the FBI announced Thursday.

Brian Risso, 63, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Beth Freeman after he pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.

According to his plea agreement, Risso admitted that in February 2022, he knowingly possessed visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The images included “prepubescent minors and minors engaged in sadistic or masochistic conduct. Risso possessed 542 files containing child pornography, including 513 images and 29 videos,” prosecutors wrote.

Risso stored the images at home on his personal Apple iMac computer, the FBI said.

Risso was employed by the City of Campbell as a building maintenance worker between 2006 and 2022. When the FBI alerted city officials of his arrest in March of 2022, he was placed on administrative leave and banned from accessing city property and facilities, city officials said.

In addition to the prison term, the judge ordered Risso to serve 60 months of supervised release after his prison term is completed, and to pay a fine of $30,000.

Risso’s arrest was the result of an FBI investigation.
