DC reveals titles and new costumes for Absolute Power

Absolute Power is almost here. This Summer’s blockbuster event will see Amanda Waller launch the final stage of her plan two years in the making. Teaming up with Failsafe and the Brainiac Queen, she plans to rid the world of metahumans once and for all by taking their powers away. Kicking off on May 4th with Absolute Power 2024 FCBD Special Edition followed by Absolute Power: Ground Zero #1 on June 25th,  now we finally have a look at the titles that will be coming out this July as the event gets into full swing.

The first of the series’ four-part miniseries, Absolute Power #1, comes out July 3rd (that’s right, DC is releasing on Wednesdays again). DC’s heroes will need to find a way to fight back against Waller and her allies without the help of their powers. Batman leads the charge as the head of the resistance in this series by Mark Waid and Dan Mora.

Of course, the heroes aren’t the only ones in this event. Starting July 10th, Absolute Power: Task Force VII will launch as a biweekly title following Waller’s Trinity of Evil. A rotating cast of writers and artists will show how Failsafe’s tech combines with Amazo’s powers to form a team of deadly robots specially designed to eliminate metahumans. They will target heroes such as Shazam, Aquaman, and the Justice Society of America.

As the leader of the super villains, Amanda Waller will get her own title starting July 24th. Absolute Power: Origins will be a three part series by writer John Ridley and artist Alitha Martinez exploring the tragic backstory of why Waller hates metahumans and will stop at nothing to make sure that what happened to her can never happen again.

Finally, the main titles of the trinity of super heroes will form a core part of Absolute Power. Each of the series will act as tie-ins to the main event starting this July with Batman #150, Wonder Woman #11, and Superman #16. Each must fight back again Waller and her army of robots in their own way.
