Campbell PD arrests 2 suspects in separate incidents in connection to same burglary

(KRON) — Two suspects arrested in two separate incidents over the past week have been connected to the same residential burglary, according to the Campbell Police Department. On April 3 at around 12:42 p.m., Campbell PD officers responded to a residential burglary report on John Kirk Court.

The suspect, according to police, entered the victim’s residence and stole valuables that included a passport, bank cards, laptop, and jewelry. The suspect left the scene and jumped a fence into nearby Kirkwood Plaza.

The suspect was next spotted at a Subway in Kirkwood Plaza which prompted a pursuit into a nearby neighborhood. The suspect scaled fences across multiple backyards before entering a yard where a resident was waiting for him. With the resident’s assistance, officers apprehended the suspect, identified as Tung Hoang, a 48-year-old transient.

Hoang was charged with:

  • Burglary
  • Resisting arrest
  • Vandalism
  • Theft
  • Possession of drugs and burglary tools
  • Outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants

He also faces charges related to previous arrests by neighboring agencies, police said.

Three days later, on Saturday April 6, officers responded to a welfare check on a man passed out in a running vehicle on the roadway, facing the wrong way, with visible drug paraphernalia. The passed out man was identified as David Pansullo, 33, of Campbell.

Pansullo, police said, had been arrested back on Dec. 28 for a nearly identical call for service when he was found passed out, engine running with controlled substances. He was also arrested on Jan. 9 for possession of controlled substance and felony warrants.

Due to his prior arrests, Pansullo was under active and searchable felony SORP (Supervised Own Recognizance Release) for narcotics sales and felon in possession of firearm. Police searched him and his vehicle and found:

  • 142.6 grams of methamphetamine
  • 24 grams of marijuana
  • A switchblade
  • 3 throwing knives
  • Various pieces of identification not belonging to him

A search of his residences yielded additional items from the April 3 burglary on John Kirk Court. He was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of controlled substance with intent to sell
  • Possession of marijuana with intent to sell
  • Identity theft
  • Committing a felony while out on bail
  • Possession of a switchblade in a vehicle

Pansullo, police said, remains in custody pending further legal proceedings.
