South superstar Siddharth is celebrating his 45th birthday today. The multi-talented actor is known for films like Jigarthanda and Bommarillu and was also seen in Bollywood films like Rang De Basanti and Chashme Baddoor. Siddharth Suryanarayan, known mononymously as Siddharth is also works as a screenwriter, producer and playback singer apart from acting.
Recently, the actor has delivered some incredible performances and has received a lot of praise for his work. In the Telugu romantic action drama Maha Samudram Siddharth plays Vijay who joins the police service in order to obtain money illegally. Following an unintentional stabbing event, Vijay flees, compelling his closest friend Arjun to turn into a smuggler in order to take care of his pregnant lover Mahalakshmi. Another film of his which was a huge success is Chittha which addresses paedophilia and child trafficking, is a success. In the film, Siddharth plays Eeswaran, a man who treats his eight-year-old niece Sundari as though she were his daughter. When Sundari is taken by a paedophile, Eeswaran’s life is completely flipped upside down.
The actor has a few interesting projects lined up which he announced on his last birthday. The first project is Indian 2, an action film which is a follow-up to director S. Shankar’s 1996 hit film Indian. The film won three National Awards. Alongside returning star Kamal Haasan, Siddharth will play police officer Chitra Varadharanjan. The second project is The Test explores the impact of an international cricket match in Chennai on three different people’s lives. Siddharth shares the screen with Nayanthara and R. Madhavan.
