virgin galactic: Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic is giving you a chance for a free space trip

Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic has got two spare seats for its upcoming space flights, seats you could get a chance to win by donating some money to the Space for Humanity charity. The company announced a raffle offering 2 free seats, till September 1, to a winner and a guest for a future trip on its VSS Unity spaceplane.

You can improve your chances of winning by making a large donation. By giving $10, you’ll get 100 entries in the raffle, while a $25 donation will get you 250 entries, and so on. The winners will be announced on September 29. The link for participation is provided in the tweet.
If you land a seat, then prepare yourself to be taken to about 250,000 feet above the sea in the Unity rocket that will give you the view of the curvature of the Earth for a few minutes and another few minutes experiencing the gravity of the situation (literally) in a no-gravity zone. The rocket will be carried to an altitude of 50,000 feet by a carrier aircraft, after which Unity will detach from it and fire up towards the boundary of space.
It is likely that rival Blue Origin is also going to come up with a similar offer, so here’s to more opportunities for space travel if you, unfortunately, miss out on this one.
