Powerful winds move through SoCal this weekend

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A red flag warning will be in effect for parts of Southern California this weekend as potentially damaging winds move through the region.

The strongest winds are expected to arrive Saturday, but it will still be breezy Sunday. The red flag warning means an increase in the risk of wildfires.

Los Angeles and Orange counties Saturday will see a high around 72 degrees with gusty conditions. Similar conditions are on tap Sunday.

The valleys and the Inland Empire Saturday could see gusts as strong as 45 mph amid a high of 71 degrees. It’ll be slightly warmer Sunday.

Beach communities Saturday will see a high of 74, along with gusty conditions.

The mountains Saturday will be cold with a high of 49 during the day, dropping to a chilly 18 degrees overnight.

Deserts Saturday will be sunny and breezy during the day with a high of 57, dropping to 31 at night.
