Sam Asghari denies Britney Spears restaurant ‘meltdown’ report

Britney Spears’ husband shut down a sensationalized report that the pop star had a “meltdown” at a restaurant.

Sam Asghari took to his Instagram Stories on Saturday night to defend his wife, writing, “Don’t believe what you read online people.”

The actor’s post came hours after TMZ published a story stating that Spears, 41, had “caused a scene” at Joey in Woodland Hills, Calif., while out to dinner with Asghari, 28, on Friday night.

Eyewitnesses claimed to the website that the “Hold Me Closer” singer was acting “manic” and “talking gibberish,” prompting the former personal trainer to “storm out.”

However, a video obtained by TMZ appeared to contradict the eyewitness accounts, simply showing Spears shielding her face with a menu while another patron filmed her on a cellphone in the middle of the establishment. The footage notably did not show Spears speaking incoherently or Asghari leaving in a huff.

A manager at Joey previously told Page Six that they could not “disclose any information” about the celebrity couple’s headline-making visit.

But now, an employee tells us exclusively, “The disruptor wasn’t Britney — it was the diner who taunted her by taking a video without consent.”

Spears initially addressed the incident by giving the middle finger in an Instagram video. She then wrote on Sunday night, “I know the news is all hyped about me being a little drunk at a restaurant … it’s like they’ll be WATCHING MY EVERY MOVE 👀 !!! I’m so flattered they talk about me like a maniac THEN have the balls to talk about all the negative things that happened in my past !!!”

The Grammy winner spent nearly 14 years under a conservatorship, which gave her now-estranged father, Jamie Spears, control of her personal, medical and financial affairs.

A Los Angeles judge terminated the controversial arrangement in November 2021, and Britney married Asghari six months later.
