According to AP report, a Mississippi man stated that his pet cat named Bandit helped prevent a robbery at their house. The furry baby also helped save her parent’s life.

According to the reports, Bandit lives with her 68-year-old parent, Fred Everitt in the Tupelo suburb of Belden. The report also mentioned that two people tried breaking into their house the last week. Bandit did everything possible in her power to alert Everitt of the danger.

While speaking to the reporters, Everitt mentioned that he was awoken by Bandit’s meows in the kitchen, after which she rushed into the bedroom, jumped onto the bed, and began to pull the comforter off him, which is when Everitt realized that something was wrong.

Describing the situation further, he mentioned that looking at Bandit’s behavior; he got up and investigated the situation. That is when he noticed two young men outside his backdoor. One of them was holding a gun and the other had a crowbar, which he was using to break open the door.

Based on the reports, soon after Everitt grabbed his gun and moved towards the kitchen, the men noticed him and escaped the premises. Everitt informed the agency that he did not need to call the police. He is very proud of Bandit for being proactive in such a situation. Everitt added, “You’ve heard of guard dogs. This is a guard cat.”
