The return of ‘Twee’ fashion last year renewed interest in many throwback trends, including the early 2010’s favorite shoe: Mary Janes. Since then, we’ve seen the preppy MVP crop up all over Instagram, street style and even the red carpet. Now, Jenna Ortega’s just teamed a pair of MJs with a see-through dress, and if you haven’t already got back on the trend, this might convince you.
Now, it has to be said, Jenna could wear practically anything and I’d consider it cool *but* her latest outfit is a whole other level of chic. Overnight, the Wednesday star’s new The Sunday Times Style cover dropped on Instagram and I’m high-key obsessed. In the pic, Jenna wears a black Christian Cowan gown with a sizeable transparent mesh panel down one side of the bodice. You can also see a handful of feathery pompoms attached to the hem, giving the dress an extra glam finish. It’s her shoes that really steal the show for me though. Jenna’s slinky slip is perfectly offset with a pair of preppy, low-heel Mary Janes and ivory socks scrunched down towards her ankles.
