Blake Shelton won’t be on The Voice season 24, but that doesn’t mean his career is slowing down. On the contrary — he just announced major news in regards to his work in country music.
In mid-August, news broke that the inaugural People’s Choice Country Awards (hosted by Little Big Town) was set to air from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on September 28. As the nominees for the first annual awards show rolled out, folks learned that the “God’s Country” musician could potentially be the recipient of four awards that night. Among those he got nominated for, he is up for People’s Artist of 2023, Male Artist of 2023, Concert Tour of 2023 and Social Country Star of 2023.
Shortly after the announcement went live, Blake went on Instagram to share the reveal with his followers. “Blake is nominated for FOUR @peopleschoice Country Awards!” the official caption read on August 16. “Now it’s y’alls turn to VOTE! Vote up to 1x per day, per category, per method until August 25th!”
When fans learned about the news, they immediately rallied around him to share their support for the endeavor.
“I voted for you. You’re my favorite country music singer!!!❤️😍,” one person wrote on Instagram. “Should win all 4 of these awards and more. LOVE Blake!!!” another exclaimed. “You so deserve any nomination you get, well done 🤞🤞,” a different follower added.
While the Barmageddon star has a lot to look forward to, he isn’t the only one raking in the nominations at the People’s Choice Country Awards. Luke Bryan, Kelsea Ballerini and Lainey Wilson all got recognized for their work in the music industry, along with each vying for the People’s Artist award alongside Blake.
Besides for being a nominee, Blake is tasked with presenting Toby Keith the Country Music Icon award, celebrating Toby’s 30 years of creating songs for his audience.
So it seems like even if Blake doesn’t win, he’ll still have an incredible night.
