Ford Ranger Raptor, Everest deliveries to commence September 19


If you’re waiting for a new Ford Ranger Raptor or Everest, you’ll need to wait just a little bit longer.

After initially announcing these models would arrive in August, Ford has subsequently confirmed the two models are now set to begin local deliveries on September 19.

“A small number of Next-Gen Raptor vehicles have arrived in Australia; however, these units will be held until accessories and parts supply reach optimal levels,” reads a communication shared with Ford dealers.

“We anticipate shipping will commence from week commencing September 19.”

It’s a similar story for the related Everest SUV.

“Dealer vehicle orders have commenced arriving in Australia; however, these units will be held until accessories and parts supply reach optimal levels,” the communication reads.

“We are working to ensure all Dealers receive a minimum of 1 unit from week commencing September 19.”

Ranger Raptor waiting times blew out to 2023 a couple of months ago. If you order one today, Ford says you won’t take delivery for around eight months.

The same applies for the V6 diesel-powered Everest Sport and Platinum and Ranger Wildtrak, though the company notes there are no waiting times for the four-cylinder Everest Ambiente and Trend and the rest of the Ranger line-up.

Ford’s rollout of its new-generation ute and SUV models hasn’t been entirely smooth, as 2022 continues to be a rocky year for automaker supply chains.

The core Ranger range’s launch was delayed by a month, with initial stock levels cut due to COVID-19 lockdowns affecting various parts suppliers.

A number of V6-powered Rangers were also grounded while Ford rectified an issue with tailshaft vibrations.

The new Ranger Raptor and Everest will be the first to pack V6 engines, though they’re very different mills.

The Ranger Raptor uses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre petrol V6 with 292kW of power and 583Nm of torque, up 135kW and 83Nm on the old Raptor’s four-cylinder turbo-diesel.

The Everest, in contrast, comes standard in Sport and Platinum guise with a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 with 184kW and 600Nm, also available in the Ranger XLT, Sport and Wildtrak.

Ambiente and Trend versions of the Everest use the familiar 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel four with 154kW and 500Nm.
