Cold weather payment triggered: DWP issue new alert today – full list of all postcodes | Personal Finance | Finance
Cold weather payments have been triggered across the UK again today as the DWP issued it’s latest warning. Baroness Stedman-Scott detailed: “Keeping warm throughout the winter is hugely important to staying healthy, which is why we pay to help heat homes when there’s a sustained cold snap.
Eligible climants will receive £25 for each seven day period of cold weather under the current rules.
The payments for this should come through within 14 working days.
This means that for claimants in the areas triggered today, payments should arrive by the end of January.
The money will be paid into the same banking or building society account as their existing benefit payments.
