However, a recent survey commissioned by energyhelpline.com revealed that just over half of people in the UK (51 percent) do not believe the Government is providing enough support during the energy crisis.

On top of this, exactly half of respondents to this poll admitted that they had not heard of support schemes, such as Cold Weather Payments, the Warm Home Discount or Winter Fuel Payments.

Mark Bennett, an energy expert at energyhelpline.com, emphasised the importance of suppliers and the Government promoting their support schemes to those who will need it most.

Mr Bennett explained: “While it’s clear that the energy crisis is causing millions of households to worry about paying their bills – increasingly we are looking for more sustainable solutions when it comes to cutting our bills.
