Gower, a 42-year-old resident of the East Shasta Avenue Apartments in Chico, was stopped in his vehicle nearby and arrested on suspicion of operating of a DMT lab and possession of controlled substances for sale.

Michael O’Brien, BINTF commander, said Gower is currently detained in the Butte County Jail with bail set at $115,000.

The press release said several other people were also detained during the search, including Ray Shawn Kaliske, 34, of Chico, on suspicion of an outstanding warrant.

DMT is classified as an illegal hallucinogenic drug commonly found in illegal chemical processing labs such as the one found in Gower’s apartment, the press release said.

Serving the warrant led to the third DMT lab seized by BINTF agents within the last 90 days.
