Akshay Kumar drops the motion poster of Mission Raniganj, replaces India with Bharat

The upcoming movie starring Akshay Kumar has an intriguing “Bharat” connection. On Wednesday, the actor released the motion poster for Mission Raniganj, but the internet quickly discovered a few changed references to “Bharat” in his Instagram post.

The Great Indian Rescue was the working title for Mission Raniganj. The internet couldn’t help but note how the tentative title made it to the poster just below the final title, but with an odd tweak, when Akshay unveiled the movie’s official title along with the motion poster on Wednesday.

It was changed to “The Great Bharat Rescue” from “The Great Indian Rescue.” This transition takes place as the nation debates whether to formally rename India as Bharat or not.

Parineeti Chopra also appears in the rescue drama, directed by filmmaker Tinu Suresh Desai, and made by Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani’s Pooja Productions. The movie is scheduled to open in theatres on October 6; the teaser will be released on Thursday.

On Independence Day, Akshay just recently declared that he now has Indian citizenship. Prior to this, the actor was just a Canadian citizen. Akshay’s most recent project with Mission Raniganj director Rustom earned him his first National Film Award for Best Actor (2016).

The Bharat vs. India argument began when President Draupadi Murmu sent official dinner invitations to heads of state and chief ministers during the G20 Summit in New Delhi, which sparked a controversy because the word “India” was changed to “Bharat.”
