A couple of VIP visitors to CSUMB Library – Monterey Herald

CSU Monterey Bay President Dianne Harrison gave Clint Eastwood and Ollie Nutt, CEO of the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, a sneak preview of the new campus library during construction in 2008.  The library, which opened in December 2008, “is a huge footprint on our campus,” Harrison said. “It is a magnificent centerpiece for us.” The Monterey Peninsula Foundation donated $500,000. Two prominent agricultural families — the Tanimuras and the Antles — donated a combined $4 million for the library. Construction cost $69 million, with $56 million in state funding and the balance coming from private donations. “With the world of the Internet, the libraries don’t get the attention they deserve,” Eastwood said.
