During a recent fan event, when Shraddha was questioned about which biopic she’d aspire to star in, her response was, “I would also wish to say Lata Mangeshkar. I mean, it’s a very big aim, but you never know.”
Indeed, it is a significant aspiration, but not entirely out of reach, given that Shraddha Kapoor is actually related to Lata Mangeshkar. Additionally, her shared interest in singing has fostered a close bond between the two over the years, right up until the legendary singer’s passing last year.
Shraddha Kapoor’s maternal grandfather, Pandit Pandharinath Kolhapure, holds the distinction of being the first cousin of both Lata Mangeshkar and her sister, the renowned singer Asha Bhosle. Consequently, Shraddha’s mother, Shivangi Kolhapure, and her actor-sister, Padmini Kolhapure, are Lata Mangeshkar’s nieces.
Shraddha Kapoor is known to have spent significant time with Lata Mangeshkar over the years, honing her singing skills under the guidance of the legendary singer. She has showcased her vocal talent in various movie tracks, including Galliyan in Mohit Suri’s 2014 action thriller Ek Villain, Do Jahaan in Vishal Bhardwaj’s 2014 film Haider, Sab Tera in Sabbir Khan’s 2015 action thriller Baaghi, Tere Mere Dil in Shujaat Saudagar’s 2016 musical Rock On 2, and Phir Bhi Tumko Chahungi in Mohit Suri’s 2017 romantic film Half Girlfriend.
