Pant humorously mentioned that he was playing the role of a sardar at a Dhaba, while Rahul was playing the role of a studious college boy. Pant even joked that Rahul is friends with the RBI (Reserve Bank of India) officials, adding a light-hearted touch to their interaction.
The promotional campaign also featured other cricketing stars like Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer, each playing unique roles. Iyer, for instance, portrayed a traditional Bengali man who broke into dance, while Hardik played the role of a business official engaging in dandiya with chopsticks alongside his Japanese client.
The advertisement release marks the countdown to the IPL 2024, with just two weeks left for the tournament opener between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Chepauk Stadium on March 22. For Pant, the upcoming IPL season holds special significance as he makes a comeback for the Delhi Capitals after a near-fatal accident in December 2022. On the other hand, Rahul will be leading the Lucknow Super Giants after being ruled out of IPL 2023 due to a hamstring injury. Iyer, who was ousted from the BCCI’s central contract list, will look to lead Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after missing out on the last season. Hardik Pandya will also take on a new role as the captain of Mumbai Indians, replacing Rohit Sharma.
