Ranveer Singh acknowledges criticisms around Don 3, compares it to Daniel Craig’s James Bond casting

In August, Farhan Akhtar revealed that Shah Rukh Khan won’t return as Don in the third part of the franchise. A teaser for Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh, was released, receiving mixed reactions from fans. Some were happy about the franchise’s return, while others believed Shah Rukh Khan should still play the stylish criminal.

Ranveer Singh recently attended the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia. During a panel discussion in Jeddah, he talked about his portrayal of Don in the film directed by Farhan Akhtar. Ranveer acknowledged the scepticism surrounding the role, previously played by stars Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, and expressed awareness of the challenges ahead.

During a conversation with a leading news portal, Ranveer Singh expressed his desire to add his own unique touch to the character of Don and interpret it in his own way. He acknowledged the significance of taking over such a beloved and respected franchise in Hindi cinema. When the news was first announced, there were doubts, but he pointed out that this is a common occurrence in the film industry. He compared it to Daniel Craig stepping in as the new Bond, which was also met with apprehension. Therefore, he sees this scepticism as something natural and expected.
