EA Sports FC 24 releases this month on September 29th. Ahead of the release, PlayStation India has announced that once again the PlayStation 5 will be available at a discount in India. However, this time, it’ll come bundled with EA FC 24. Let us check out the details.
Like all previous PS5 sales in India, this one too will be live for a limited period of time, from September 29th when EA Sports FC 23 launches, to October 12th. The PlayStation 5 Standard Edition is currently priced at INR 54,990 while the Standard Edition of EA Sports FC 24 for PS4 and PS5 is available at INR 4,499. The sale reduces the price of the bundle by INR 11,200, bringing it down to INR 48,190.
The news was announced by PlayStation India on 25th September. They’ve also informed that pre-orders for the PS5-EA Sports FC 24 bundle will go live on the 29th of September at 12 pm IST on online retail stores like Amazon, Flipkart, Shopatsc, Reliance, Croma, Vijay Sales along with other participating retailers.
Several people took to X (formerly Twitter) to react to the news, and the choice of promoting and including EA Sports FC 24, when PS5 exclusive Spider-Man 2 is launching soon after. Indian market analyst Rishi Alwani claimed that EA Sports FC 24 pre-orders are down by 70% in India because “EA didn’t do enough to let people know this is what FIFA was.” He further added that, FIFA 23 sales on the other hand have doubled, since EA Sports FC 24 pre-orders went live. As for Sony’s choice of bundling off EA FC with these PS5s instead of Spider-Man 2, Alwani wrote, “Sales of previous Spider-Man games have been on par with FIFA.” However, it seems like EA FC 24 needs more promotion than Spider-Man 2, which supposedly has more takers in India.
In the US however, PlayStation has announced the Upgrader Program with a chance to win a free game with every PS5 purchase. These free games include a list of PS5 Exclusives like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, God of War Ragnarök, and others, along with games like Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. However, this is a limited time offer that ends on October 20th, the day Spider-Man 2 launches.
