Next-gen 2024 Toyota Kirloskar Motors Limited Fortuner luxury SUV rendered on video

The Toyota Fortuner is, hands down, the most successful full-size SUV in the Indian automotive market. Ever since its launch in 2009, this SUV has shown consistent growth in sales, despite its price reaching astronomical figures. Currently, the Toyota Fortuner is in its second generation in India, and it has already gone through a facelift and a new model addition. However, it has been reported that the company is working on the third generation of this highly successful full-size SUV, and it’s most likely that its new generation will be launched in the coming two years. Recently, a video rendering based on a recent spy shot of this SUV has been shared online, giving us a glimpse of what could be coming.

The video rendering of the third-generation Toyota Fortuner has been shared on YouTube by SRK Designs on their channel. SRK Designs is one of the country’s most talented digital artists, who has been creating renders of numerous popular cars. In the most recent render, we can see that the artist has taken design inspiration from the recently leaked pictures of the Fortuner’s upcoming generation model. The new-gen SUV will have a completely new front-end design, and most likely, it will also feature a brand-new interior design.

Exterior redesign

From the newly released render, it’s clear that the front of the upcoming Fortuner has been completely redesigned and now looks even bolder and larger. While the bonnet appears to be the same, the rest of the front end has been extensively revised. The main highlights of this new front end are the updated all-LED headlights and a much larger front grille. The front grille features three horizontal stripes with a massive Toyota emblem and is surrounded by thick garnish finished in the body color.

Moving on, as mentioned earlier, the headlights have been changed and now feature a distinct inverted L design with LED DRLs. The lights, just like those on the outgoing model, are very sleek. Right below the new LED headlights, a unique air vent can be noticed. Additionally, the front bumper has also been completely redesigned and now appears much bolder. The center of the new front bumper houses a sizable silver skid plate, and on either side, there are rectangular housings for the fog lamps. LED DRLs have also been placed right below the fog lamps.

From the side profile, not much seems to have changed in this rendered Fortuner. The only notable difference is the new design of the alloy wheels, though these are likely not the ones that will be seen on the production model. As for the rear end design, this rendering does not show the rear of the upcoming Fortuner. However, according to reports and previous leaked pictures, it’s been noted that it will also undergo extensive revisions.

Next-gen Toyota Fortuner luxury SUV: What it’ll look like

As of yet, it hasn’t been clearly reported which engines the upcoming Fortuner will be equipped with. However, speculations suggest that the company could introduce a mild-hybrid system, aiming to enhance the SUV’s fuel efficiency and reduce its carbon footprint. Some reports have indicated that the existing 2.8-liter GD series four-cylinder diesel engine is likely to be equipped with a mild-hybrid system, similar to the one utilized in the highly popular Toyota MPV, the Innova Hycross. This system could integrate a 48V battery and a small electric motor generator, working in sync with the engine to optimize both performance and efficiency.
