Mohammad Rizwan blows up over review decision after Australia’s taunting

Pakistan batter Mohammad Rizwan was left furious when a review gave him out caught behind off the bowling of Pat Cummins.

After a big appeal from the Aussies, umpire Michael Gough gave it not out but Cummins decided to review.

The cameras immediately showed a big white mark on Rizwan’s forearm, which the batter pointed towards.

However, a replay suggested the ball hit the batter on the wristband of his right glove.

Australia immediately celebrated as Rizwan continued to point to his arm, disputing their cheers.

Both parties started arguing, with one member of the Australian side yelling out “straight off the glove champ”.

“I think it’s very clear, it’s come off the wristband hasn’t it?” England legend Michael Vaughan said on Fox Cricket.

The Decision Review System process continued for some time with hot spot and Snicko inevitably forcing third umpire Richard Illingworth to ask Gough to reverse his decision to out.

Rizwan then put his hands in the air and spoke with umpire Joel Wilson before furiously going off the field.

“He’s not happy Rizwan, he’s showing his mark on his forearm,” Pakistan legend Wasim Akram said.

” … what a wicket from the skipper.”

Adam Gilchrist later said he was unsure whether there was conclusive evidence to overturn the original decision.

“I wasn’t certain, all the replays I saw I didn’t feel with certainty that it had (hit his wristband). I think if it’s taken that many looks at that long of a time, there’s probably got to be a cut-off point,” he said.

Australia went on to win the match by 79 runs and seal a series victory with one Test left.
