Mejuri Is the Latest Jewelry Brand to Enter Lab-Grown Diamond Space

Devout Vogue Shopping enthusiasts will know that Mejuri is a jewelry brand that’s often included in our edit. Their pieces are egalitarian and versatile—two things we value greatly. Noura Sakkijha, who co-founded Mejuri a decade ago, created the fine jewelry brand with the simple vision to design jewelry for everyone at approachable prices. In the past ten years the brand has expanded to stones, mens, fine, and today is introducing a lab-grown diamond collection. “[Mejuri’s] expansion into lab-grown diamonds is a way to make high quality diamonds (especially the larger sized stones) more accessible to our customers,” says Sakkijha, “without compromising our sustainability efforts.”

The lab-grown diamond collection will launch with a core collection of classic styles: tennis bracelets and necklaces, stud earrings, and solitaire pieces. Each of the twelve lab-grown diamond pieces give the opportunity for double the carat weight as their natural diamond designs. “The response to our lab-grown sapphires has been overwhelming,” says Sakkijha, “and we’re excited to watch this category grow on our platforms and in-store.”

Mejuri’s lab grown diamond introduction follows an increasing number of manufactured stones in the jewelry marketplace from traditional, independent, and disruptive young brands. While there’s still much to learn about the industry, it offers an option for a stone of larger size at a comparably smaller price tag.

Regardless of provenance, diamond jewelry continues to maintain its timeless quality and remains easy to style with any look. “I know I will be purchasing the tennis necklace,” says Sakkijha of her favorite piece from the Mejuri launch, “[I] will love it just as much with a white tee and jeans in the day as I do with a tuxedo jacket and maxi skirt for after dark.”
