BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) – April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
During the month, local advocacy groups work to educate the community on resources for victims.
One of those agencies is the Tri-County Help Center.
The help center works hard all year long to provide resources to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and human trafficking to people in Belmont, Monroe and Harrison Counties.
This month of national awareness allows them to outreach into the community to provide more education on prevention and where to find help if you need it.
“In our outreach efforts, it’s our goal to raise awareness, to break that stigma of victim blaming, of sexual violence, and really educate the community on ways that they can help each other on services that are available and how we can help survivors.”
