Krafton India Reveals the First Cohort of Its Gaming Incubator; Check Out the Details About the First Two Developers

Krafton has revealed the two gaming studios selected for the first cohort of its Krafton India Gaming Incubator (KIGI) program, announced in October 2023.

ReDimension Games, based in Kohima, Nagaland, and Shura Games, based in Bengaluru, have been chosen from a pool of over two hundred applicants from across India, as reported by Money Control.

The program by the developer and publisher of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) aims to assist young Indian game developers in transforming their ideas into fully functional and sustainable video games.

Through KIGI, the two game developers will receive “tailored mentorship from industry experts in game development, design, marketing, and business strategy.”

The two studios will get financial assistance ranging from $50,000 to $150,000 (₹41 lakh to ₹1.24 crore). Moreover, they will gain access to “Krafton’s internal resources including data analytics and market research, among others.”

Anuj Sahani, head of the Krafton India Incubator Program and India Publishing Advisor, mentioned that additional startups may be chosen for the cohort based on “the quality of the applications and products being showcased.” Plans for a second, larger cohort are also underway.

Sojourn Past and Spice Secrets

ReDimension Games developed the game Sojourn Past, which was showcased at the India Games Developer Conference in 2023 and received the Upcoming Game of the Year Award there.

IGN India had the opportunity to try out the game at the event, and we found it to be one of the standout titles showcased at IGDC 2023. Developed by a team of three, led by the studio’s CEO Pekrukhrietuo Pienyu, this pixel-art-based action-adventure game with bullet-hell elements took 18 months to create.

If you’re interested in trying out the game, you can download the demo of Sojourn Past from itch.io.

Shura Games is working on Spice Secrets, a mobile game that will “blend culinary adventures with puzzle challenges.” The studio is led by Shubham Bengale. There isn’t publicly available information about the game yet, but we’ll keep an eye out for updates.
