‘GTA 5’ DLC with “James Bond Trevor” cancelled after “some” filming

Steve Ogg, the actor who played Grand Theft Auto 5 protagonist Trevor, has revealed that one of the game’s singleplayer DLC projects featured a secret agent plot for the violent character.

Speaking on a Q&A, spotted by The Loadout, Ogg shed some light on the cancelled Grand Theft Auto 5 DLC. Players were all expecting some story DLC because developer Rockstar announced it. Unfortunately, the company scrapped it all in favour of focusing on the money-making GTA Online.

“Trevor was gonna be undercover, he works for the feds,” Ogg said. “We did shoot some of that stuff with James Bond Trevor, he’s still kind of a fuck up, but he’s doing his best to pretend to be like [a secret agent]. We shot some stuff and then it just disappeared and [Rockstar] never did it, they never followed up on it.”

Apparently, some of the ideas and material were reused in GTA Online‘s Doomsday and Diamond Casino heists, so not all the work was lost, at least. As well as secret agent Trevor, we were also supposed to get alien invasion and zombie apocalypse DLC. Instead we got rocket cars and nightclubs.

Rockstar employees were recently dismayed to learn the company had scrapped its remote working policy. Several anonymous developers claimed there was “zero consultation” and one worried “management may even be paving the way for a return to toxic ‘crunch’ practices.”

Another said, “one of my concerns is being forced to work late hours in the office to maintain contact with global teams when before we could log on from home to attend late meetings. This will mean missing out on spending time with our families. I am also aware of colleagues who have health issues preventing full time office work who are now left in limbo.”
