Flash Flood Warning issued that is now considered life threatening in West Virginia and Ohio

WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flash Flood Warning for The Ohio River Valley and is considered to be life threatening.

Those counties considered to be in life threatening areas at this time include Jefferson County, Ohio, Hancock and Brooke Counties in West Virginia.

As of 6:32 p.m. The NWS considered the hazardous weather to be life threatening.

The warning is set to expire at 9:15 p.m.Thursday.

Counties include Eastern Belmont, Southeastern Jefferson, Eastern Monroe, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, and Wetzel County.

Reports from the Wetzel County center report heavy water running across the roadway near Proctor Creek from Route 2.

Marshall County officials tell us there is flooding on Middle Grave Creek between Terrell Ridge and Hinerman Hill.

The Flash Flood Warning outlining Jefferson, Hancock, and Brooke County will expire at 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Flash Flood Warning outlining Tyler County will expire at 11:45 p.m. Thursday.

Local radar indicates thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain across the warned area.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches are possible.

Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and poor drainage areas is possible.
