England team named for Dharamsala Test; Paul Collingwood, Marcus Trescothick substitute fielders

England has been forced to name its coaches Marcus Trescothick and Paul Collingwood as substitute fielders after the squad was decimated for the fifth Test against India.

Trescothick’s last Test match for England was in 2006 while Collingwood’s red-ball career ended at the SCG five years later.

The two assistant coaches were placed on England’s official team list according to ESPN Cricinfo, which was submitted to the ICC.

England are no chance of winning the series with India leading 3-1 following a five-wicket win at Ranchi.

Ben Stokes may have breathed a sigh of relief after he won the toss and elected to bat, with his substitute fielders unlikely to be used on day one.

Ashes villain Ollie Robinson is currently in the squad but suffering an illness and has stayed back at the team hotel.

Rehan Ahmed has flown home due to personal reasons, while Jack Leach is also back in England after he was injured.

As a result the squad was reduced to 14 players for the final game, while Shoab Bashir is also suffering from an illness but has been selected in the side.
