Deepak Chahar Shares Insights on Bowling Strategy in Post-Match

Chennai Super Kings clinched yet another impressive victory in the seventh match of IPL 2024 against Gujarat Giants. Once again, CSK displayed their sheer brilliance on the field. Pacer Deepak Chahar’s exceptional performance stood out as he consistently took crucial wickets at key moments during the game. Following the match, Chahar shared insights into his remarkable bowling spell, reflecting on his pivotal role in securing the team’s triumph.

Chahar’s Bowling Brilliance:

The game was registered as the second home for Chennai Super Kings. In the second match on the home ground, they faced Gujarat Titans. After winning the toss, GT opted to bowl first. In the second innings, while chasing a big target, GT batters faced difficulties. Deepak Chahar’s bowling brilliance was one of the reasons for it.

While batting, GT openers gave a desired a good start. But in the third over, Deepak Chahar came to bowl. In the second last delivery of the over, he bowled a thigh-high lower ball on a short of a length. Gill tried to sweep it but ended up being LBW. Gill walked away after scoring 8 runs.

After a while, he got success again. In the fifth over, he came to bowl again. Wriddhiman Saha was on the strike. Chahar bowled a length delivery on the stumps. He swiped but the ball ended up going to Tushar Deshpande. Saha walked away scoring 21 runs.

Chahar’s Words:

Chahar’s domination in the first few overs of the game made a big impact on the Titans, they went under pressure and went away from the game. In the post-match ceremony, Deepak Chahar opened up about his spell. He said, “ Since the time I have been playing, I have been bowling 3 overs in the powerplay, used to it, just trying to bowl as well as possible with the new rules around. Earlier, if you bowled a bouncer in the first 2-3 balls, batters were always ready for a full-length ball, but this new rule with two bouncers allowed in an over, it helps all the pacers. There’s bounce always, but there’s not much dew around at the moment. The ball grips and bounces in such conditions. I got to look at Mahi (MSD) bhai and at Ruturaj – both of them these days (for instructions.).”
