Blood and Honey 2 First Look at Redesigned Pooh

It was made clear quite early on that micro-budget horror smash Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 would have a significantly larger budget than its shoestring predecessor (estimated to be ten times more), and part of those extra funds in the coffers have gone into making the titular bear a lot more menacing.

Bloodier Than the Average Bear

Gone is the dopey plastic visage of Blood and Honey, and a new, more detailed, realistic, and dangerous-looking Pooh bear is in its place. The important thing here is that it looks a bit less like a huge bloke in a bear mask.

The original costume cost around $770 to put together, and the new one hits around $20,000.

It matches the first look we’ve seen for Owl and Tigger, who did not feature in the original film, which saw a disgruntled Pooh seeking bloody revenge for being abandoned by Christopher Robin.

The original Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey scared up an impressive box office of over $6 million despite receiving highly unfavorable reviews. Much like fellow indie horror hit Terrifier 2, its relatively minute budget (under $ 100,000) and a theatrical release saw it exceed all expectations and become a highly profitable venture.

The sequel features a new cast, including esteemed British actor Simon Callow. He will be joined on the bear hunt by Tallulah Evans, Scott Chambers, Ryan Olivia, and Peter DeSouza-Feighoney (The Pope’s Exorcist).

Producer Scott Jeffrey is enthusiastic about what the sequel can achieve, with a higher body count among the gory promises made.

“Our sequel, we have a substantially higher budget, so Rhys is really able to create a shocking, explosive, and gore-filled movie. I truly think people will really dig what we are creating”.

Winnie the Pooh Blood & Honey 2 will be after your heart as it aims to release on February 14, 2024.
