Ajinkya Rahane Likely to Return for Upcoming Ranji Trophy Fixtures After Injury: Cricket Comebacks

Ajinkya Rahane, the prominent Indian cricketer, had to miss the recent Ranji Trophy match against Bihar due to a neck injury sustained during practice. Despite this setback, Rahane expressed his deep passion for the game, affirming his commitment to return for the upcoming matches in the Ranji Trophy.

“I have a great passion for playing, and that’s why I came to Patna. I never back down from playing. However, during a practice session, I suffered a minor injury in my neck. That’s why I am not playing this match. But I will definitely play in the upcoming Ranji matches,” Rahane stated as quoted by India Today.

Acknowledging the warm reception in Patna, Rahane praised the enthusiastic crowd that turned up to support both teams, highlighting the vibrant cricket culture in Bihar.

“Usually, you don’t get to see such a crowd in Ranji matches anywhere. But there was a significant crowd in Patna which shows the enthusiasm for cricket in Bihar. The Bihar crowd supported both teams equally. It’s not like they were only supporting Bihar,” Rahane remarked.

Expressing his delight at the fervor for cricket in Patna, Rahane also shared his culinary experiences, relishing the diverse cuisines of Bihar, and expressed his desire to return for future matches.

When questioned about the upcoming England tour and the possibility of his return to the Indian Test team, Rahane chose to remain tight-lipped, stating, “I won’t say anything about it at the moment,” leaving speculation about his return unanswered.

In the ongoing match, Mumbai posted a total of 291 runs in their first innings, led by Bhupen Lalwani with 65 runs. Suved Parkar and Tanush Kotian also contributed fifties with scores of 50 each. Currently, Bihar, in their second innings, have scored 91 for six, trailing by 60 runs.

As Rahane prepares to make his comeback in the Ranji Trophy, his return is eagerly anticipated by fans and cricket enthusiasts alike.
