2 arrested in fatal Long Beach shooting – Daily News

LONG BEACH — Two suspects were in custody on suspicion of killing a 48-year-old man in Long Beach this summer, police announced Friday.

Homicide detectives said Daven Trotter, 27, of Los Angeles, and Geneece Shallowhorn, 26, of Long Beach, were arrested Thursday in connection with the Aug. 21 killing of Los Angeles resident Kacy Lloyd.

Lloyd was killed by gunfire shortly before midnight that day in the 6700 block of Harbor Avenue on the far west side of Long Beach, according to police. The victim, shot in his upper body, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives determined that a suspect approached the victim as he was standing near his parked vehicle, and multiple shots were fired at Lloyd before the suspect fled the scene. At the time, police said the crime appeared to be gang-related, but the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

Investigators did not provide details on what led them to the two suspects, but Trotter was apprehended near the 500 block of East 64th Street and booked on suspicion of murder. He was being held on $2 million bail. Shallowhorn was located in the 200 block of East Bort Street in Long Beach, and taken into custody. She was booked for one count of accessory to murder and was being held on $1 million bail.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is urged to contact Homicide Detectives Donald Collier or Leticia Gamboa at 562-570-7244. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS or www.lacrimestoppers.org.
